Kaylin Peterson, Director of Philanthropy at Jefferson’s Ferry, a not for profit Life Plan community, has been accepted into the 2019-2020 LeadingAge New York IGNITE Leadership Academy.   This rigorous, eight month leadership program is designed to foster professional growth and cultivate relationships among the current and next generation leaders within New York’s non-profit providers of care, housing, and other services for seniors.  In order to be considered for the program, Jefferson’s Ferry submitted an in-depth nomination on behalf of Ms. Peterson.

“Kaylin Peterson is an extraordinary young professional who is a tremendous asset to the Jefferson’s Ferry community,” said Robert E. Caulfield, President and CEO of Jefferson’s Ferry.  “We couldn’t be more pleased that she has earned this opportunity to further expand her knowledge and form working relationships with other professionals in the field.  She is sure to thrive in the IGNITE Leadership environment.”

As the Director of Philanthropy at Jefferson’s Ferry, Ms. Peterson’s chief responsibility is the fundraising activities of the Jefferson’s Ferry Foundation, in particular its major annual fundraiser, Monte Carlo Night. The Foundation nurtures a philanthropic environment which has enriched the lives of the residents in numerous ways.  Peterson’s work managing Monte Carlo Night has resulted in increased funding for the Jefferson’s Ferry Resident Assistance Fund, which plays a critical role at Jefferson’s Ferry by covering the monthly fees of residents who have outlived their assets or experience an unanticipated financial need through no fault of his or her own, giving them the peace of mind that is the Jefferson’s Ferry promise.
